Comedy "Faulty Brides" by Ergo Kuld is based on a story of the same title by legendary Estonian writer Eduard Vilde, dating back to 1888. It was previously made into a film in 1929 (from which only some excerpts have survived) and also into a popular television play in 1989. This time, the story has been adapted by screenwriter Ott Kilusk. According to director Ergo Kuld, Eduard Vilde's humour is timeless and the story is still exciting to work with today. “Faulty Brides is a great source material that can be used in any era to make a modern film that will make the audience laugh.
"Weekenders" is a summer comedy full of passion and fun, based on the story of the same name by Juhan Smuul. The film was made in connection with the centenary of the beloved writer's birth and is also a tribute to the cult comedy "Siin me oleme" based on the same source material.
Oleme jõudnud 1942. aastasse. Pärast punaste taandumist on Eestis kehtestatud Saksa kord. Vaatamata võimude vahetusele jääb inimloomus endiseks – armastatakse, pidutsetakse, tülitsetakse ja lepitakse. Lutsulikke vimkasid täis loo käivitab Arno Tali poja, Arnoldi, naasmine kodutallu. See sündmus puhub Paunvere noorte vahel lõkkele kirgliku armukolmnurga. Lõbusates intriigides on oluline koht ka vanemal põlvkonnal, kus Teele, Kiir ja teised armastatud tegelased omavahel hoogsalt maid jagavad.
