German film star Franziska Petri plays superbly here, keeping the interplay between the actors of different ethnicities cohesive. The same goes for cinematographer Oleg Lukichev and artist Irina Grazhdankina, who create an environment that puts the finishing touches on the neo-noir stylized production and performance aesthetic.
