Ronnie Barnhardt (Rogen) is head of security of the Forest Ridge Shopping Mall, a job he takes very seriously, controlling rogue skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customers while dreaming of the day he can join the police.
Driven to protect and serve the mall and its customers, Ronnie is put to the test when shoppers are terrorized by a flasher. Seizing the opportunity to showcase his law enforcement talents, Ronnie takes it upon himself to catch the criminal and believes solving the crime will win the heart of his elusive dream girl and store make-up assistant, Brandi (Anna Faris). Unfortunately, Ronnie’s crime solving tactics don’t go over very well with the local Police and spark a competitive turf war with local Detective Harrison (Ray Liotta). Assisted by his less than crack team of fellow guards, Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher but getting him before the real cops do.
The film stars stars Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express, Knocked Up), Anna Faris (House Bunny), Michael Pena (The Shield) and Ray Liotta (Goodfellas). “Observe and Report” was directed by Jody Hill (“The Foot Fist Way”).
