The action takes place nowadays. A young couple comes up against mysterious paranormal events - as if something infernal has invaded their life. As if they have been cursed. Trying to figure out what it is, the girl learns that her boyfriend has met a strange young woman by the forest lake and has been getting worse ever since. The couple finds out that this is usually caused by mermaids - drowned women who have not found peace and want to take revenge on the world.
