The USSR, 1983. A spaceship returns to Earth but the public is kept unaware that only one cosmonaut of the two can be considered alive. What has happened on board remains a mystery although there is evidence showing that the cosmonauts have encountered another life form and the survivor hasn't returned quite alone. Now cosmonaut Konstantin Veshnyakov is kept under close control and supervision at a sensitive military site where neurophysiologist Tatyana Klimova is brought to evaluate his condition.
