A world collapses for the twelve-year-old Flo: he has to give up his beloved Collie because the family has to move to a smaller apartment where no animals are allowed. Lassie is then taken care of by the Count von Sprengel and his granddaughter Priscilla. Both take Lassie to the North Sea, where she soon takes flight. For Lassie, an adventurous journey begins - a journey back to Flo.
