This heartwarming film tells the true story of a wealthy, physically disabled risk taker (Francois Cluzet), the picture of established French nobility, who lost his wife in an accident and whose world is turned upside down when he hires a young, good-humored, black Muslim ex-con (Omar Sy) as his caretaker. Their bond proves the power and omniscience that love and friendship can hold over all social and economic differences.

The film stars Francois Cluzet, Omar Sy, Anne Le Ny, Audrey Fleurot, Clotilde Mollet, Alba Gaļa Bellugi, Cyril Mendy and Christian Ameri. "The Intouchables" was written and directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano.

"The Intouchables" has become a worldwide phenomenon. In March 2012 it became the highest-grossing non-English film worldwide, surpassing the Japanese anime hit "Spirited Away". Omar Sy received the César Award for Best Actor on 24 February 2012 for the role of Driss (defeating Jean Dujardin, nominated for The Artist).
