A collaboration between filmmaker Charles Atlas and singer Antony Hegarty, "Turning" captures musical selections from a special European tour Hegarty undertook with his band the Johnsons in 2006. As much a performance piece as it was a concert, Hegarty handpicked individual women, including some who are transsexual, to appear on stage as models during the songs. The combination enhances the haunting beauty of the band's lush melodies. Interspersed with the presentation are interviews with the women and backstage footage.
